RABIA AMIN
Counsellor
Rabia Amin has mentored students at Lahore Grammar School’s Counseling Department since 2015, systematically building a counselling database and creating a congenial atmosphere for students. She builds a healthy rapport with her co-workers, contributing to creating a cohesive team and supporting her peers. She’s also a certified psychotherapist from the UK at Therapy Works, bringing her therapy experience into the counselling office. Her knowledge of human psychology helps her connect with students, helping them explore their values to become self-aware. Being a certified practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming, she helps her students reframe their mindsets, helping them become progressive and passionate toward their goals. Before joining Lahore Grammar School, Amin worked at United Bank Limited for three years, where she managed a team of relationship managers. For six years, she also worked at MCB Bank Limited as a senior credit analyst and a relationship manager, reviewing proposals and vetting them for approval from management. She was also a liaison at Habib Bank Limited’s head office for two years, communicating between the different regional branches of the bank. Amin has a double Master’s degree in Economics and Finance, and her decade-long experience in corporate banking has equipped her with the skills needed to guide students in the field of banking and finance.
NIDA ELLEY
Counsellor
Nida Elley has taught English Literature, Creative Writing, and Essay Writing for over a decade, to students ranging from middle school to university, in both Pakistan and the US. She has accrued a variety of experiences along the way, having also worked in publishing and non-profit film in New York, event management in Lahore, and copywriting in London. Despite her diverse background, there has always been one common thread in Nida's work - storytelling. She is a great believer in encouraging people to tell their own stories, whether it be for their personal, academic, or professional growth. Her short story, “Begum Saira Returns”, was published as part of the Jane Austen-themed anthology, “Austenistan” (Bloomsbury UK, 2018). Her prose poetry can be found in the UNICEF-funded anthology, “Words By” (SUITCASE Media International, 2019), and the literary journals, “HerStry” (July, 2021) and “Pensive: A Global Journal of Spirituality and the Arts”(November, 2021). Her articles have also appeared in “Psychology Today”, “PAPER”, and “The Friday Times”. Nida has a BA in Journalism and Mass Media from Rutgers University and an MFA in Fiction Writing from Sarah Lawrence College.
SYED JARRIULLAH SHAH
Counsellor
Syed Jarriullah Shah is an avid researcher of local public policy, classical history, ethics, and religions. Jarriullah completed his undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia in Philosophy. He has written policy briefs and conducted workshops for the International Growth Center (IGC), a UK-based economic research centre, for the dissemination of newly conducted economic research to local policy makers in Lahore. He has extensive counselling experience with various institutions and private firms in Lahore, and a background in digital marketing, photography, and videography.
